THE BO HUFF TRIBUTE PAGE...
LEGENDARY HALL OF FAMER BO HUFF passed away Tuesday, August 4th, 2015, after a long, hard, five year battle with Cancer.
Bo was a Custom Car Builder, Painter, Fabricator, and, a true lover of the Rockabilly Sound & Lifestyle. He was also my friend.
BO and I had lots of fun during our Interview Sessions, spent some quality time at shows, enjoyed swapping some Rockabilly CD's, and had, sometimes weekly, great phone conversations over the years.
The last time we talked was a week or so before he got worse and had to be hospitalized for the last time. He was in pain, but was relaxing a bit, eating an ice cream cone, and watching his cute little grandkids runaround.
We always tried to keep our conversations positive, and, I told Bo he'd probably well enough next year so that we could get a few new Interviews together when we had the chance...either at the Starbird Tulsa Show, or, the KKOA Lead Sled in Salina. I knew he was in pain, but he said "Jonnie King, I'd like to do that with you for sure !" That was the last time we talked.
All of Bo's Family & Friends have my deepest sympathy. But with his stories Archived here on the HOF Legends Site, his voice, the oral history of his life & career, and, his great sense-of-humour, will still be heard all over the World 24/7/365.
IN HONOR OF BO, I've gone into the HOF Legends Archives, revised a few pieces of the Info, and am proud to feature some of Bo's favorite Interviews that we did through the years...you'll see them listed below with the Link that you can Click-On to hear the Interview and the story.
R.I.P., my friend. You were always right...we were like "family", and, I loved ya Mr. Bo.

"THE GREAT EIGHT" ! BO HUFF TRIBUTE STORIES: FROM THE HALL OF FAME LEGENDS ARCHIVES...
BO 8: BO'S "SAM BARRIS '55 CHEVY CLONE" STORY !
THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER BO HUFF was one of the most ambitious & creative builders in the country. One of his true "works of art" is this special clone he did of Sam Barris' '55 Chevy Convertible.
In this rare one-on-one Interview, done at the 29th Annual KKOA Lead Sled Spectacular in Salina, Bo told me the complete story of the car, what George Barris thought about it after it was finished, and what he actually started with to build it. (HINT: It WASN'T a '55 Chevy Convertible !)

SO on a busy Sunday Morning, as we were all getting ready to pack-up and head home, BO HUFF took a few minutes out to give me his thoughts on his Induction, and, his take on the excitement of what happened at the KKOA that weekend.

THIS POSTER IS FROM BO'S 2011 July Car Show in Utah. It features Bo in the middle, with some of the great guys from the Dead Sleds CC around him. He was feeling better at that time, able to enjoy life a little more after some heavy bouts with Chemo.
He gave me this copy at the KKOA Lead Sled in Salina that year, the year I won the KKOA "America's Top DJ" Award.
Bo was truly happy for me, as it was only the second time in the 31 Year History of the KKOA that this award was presented. Bo was kind enough to always remember that honor whenever we talked. That next year, when he was Inducted into THREE Halls Of Fame, I got to return the favor !
This Poster reminds me so much of Bo, his love for Customs, and, his dedication to the great bunch of guys that are in the Dead Sleds CC. I have it proudly hanging in my garage, see it everyday, and, always say a prayer for Bo. He was one of my best friends. JK
