OUR FRIEND, NORM GRABOWSKI, PASSED AWAY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2012, AFTER A LONG ILLNESS.
He will be missed for his great sense-of-humor, his talent & creativity, and, for his dedication to the Rod & Custom Industry for over Five Decades. It was a pleasure to know him, become friends with him, and, most of all: To document his stories, in his own voice & words, for all to hear today...and for future generations to learn from and enjoy.
R.I.P., my friend. JK
NORM GRABOWSKI was affectionately known as the "Father of the T-Bucket". He was among the first to bring IndustryWide/WorldWide fame to this unique style of Hot Rod.
BUT, Norm's first car wasn't a T-Bucket, but rather a $25.00, 1930 Packard Sedan that he cut the roof off of.
And, in this excerpt from our Exclusive Interview, Norm not only talked about his first look at some "hometown hot rods" that got him into Rods & Customs in the beginning...but tells the hilarious story of 16 kids packed into that Packard headed for High School one fateful morning ! ENJOY !! JK
(Above: A 1930 Packard Sedan...probably similar to Norm's. But, the $25.00 initial price he paid for it has gone up considerably ! )
