ALMOST ALL OF US DYED-IN-THE-WOOL CAR BUFFS HAVE a "Wish List" of some cool rides we'd like to put together in the future, and maybe even rebuild a car we did in the past.
CHUCK MILLER, Hall Of Fame Member & Ridler Award Winner, is no different than most of us in that regard. It's a subject that I hadn't covered with Chuck before, so I wanted to ask him about it on our get-together in Salina at the 29th Annual KKOA Lead Sled Spectacular.
Chuck's response was right-on ! If he had some time to build a couple of cars on a Wish List, Chuck would like to do a chopped, customized '51 Chevy Fleetline Fastback, AND, also redo a version of his first car which was a '50 Ford Coupe with a Canadian Ford Meteor grille, nosed, decked, sunken antenna, shaved door handles, etc.
Incidentally, Chuck's '50 Ford was not only his first car, BUT it was his first car that was featured in a magazine ! Detroit Legends Mike & Larry Alexander shot pix of that Custom Ford for "Rodding & Restyling Magazine". Chuck was fresh out of high school, 18 years old, and he was definitely on his way !!
In keeping with the theme of Chuck's List, I've pictured below an original '51 Fleetline and to the right of it Brad Masterson's Chopped '51 Chevy. (BTW: Brad invited me to sit in his chop-top Chevy one night in Salina, and I have to say the view from that lowered-lid is just way cool !) JK

Below on the left, is pictured a stock Canadian Ford Meteor, and on the right a Carson topped '50 Ford with a Meteor Grille similar to Chuck's first car.

CHUCK MILLER'S MISSING "SONIC CUDA" !

CHUCK MILLER was honored by being named the "Builder Of The Year" at the 2010 Detroit Autorama, and he got together some of his past-built cars for his display. One of the cars that was missing, and has been for many years, is the Harry Bentley Bradley Designed "SONIC CUDA".
IF YOU KNOW THE WHEREABOUTS OF THIS SUPERB MACHINE, PLEASE SEND ME AN E-MAIL WITH THE HEADING "SONIC CUDA", AND I WILL SEE THAT CHUCK CONTACTS YOU ASAP ! Send to jking@thewwbc.net .
